Second Generation Antidepressant-induced Liver Injury
Park Young-Min

Abstract
Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is one of the most common reasons for drug discontinuation, and is the most common cause of acute liver failure. This paper reviews the definition, assessment and management of DILI. We also summarize characteristics of antidepressant-induced liver injury, and recommend the monitoring and management for antidepressant-induced liver injury. It may be concluded that most antidepressant agents have the potential to induce liver injury in patients with major depressive disorder. Although the mechanism underlying DILI by antidepressant agents remains unclear, clinicians should monitor liver function carefully after antidepressant treatment.
